One of the traditional supports for Zen training are the Ten Oxherding Pictures with accompanying poems and commentaries from ancient and modern Chan and Zen masters. They describe the practitioner’s progress towards enlightenment and the return to ordinary life with ‘gift-bestowing hands’.

In this six-week class we will use John Daido Loori’s translation and commentary:
RIDING THE OX HOME. Stages on the Path of Enlightenment
