Jukai: Also known as ‘lay ordination, or ‘bestowing the Precepts’, this ceremony is an initiation into the practice of the sixteen Bodhisattva Precepts for lay practitioners. During the ceremony, initiates receive the Precepts, a Rakusu (the Buddha’s robe in mini format, which they have sewn themselves) and a Dharma name from a lineage-holding Teacher.
Two of our sangha members, Cornelia Beilke and Peter July, will be receiving the 16 Bodhisattva Precepts during the morning program on Sunday, May 24, at 10:30 am.
