Steve is visiting us as director of Branching Streams, an organization that supports sanghas whose teachers have been trained at San Francisco Zen Center in the lineage of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi.

Steve was ordained as Zen priest in 1973 and received Dharma Transmission in 1994. He has been teaching at all three temples of San Francisco Zen Center, and is the guiding teacher for Presidio Hill Zen Group.

Steve also has an MFT license, and a private psychotherapy practice in San Francisco and Mill Valley. As a therapist, influenced by Object Relations, Jungian, and Control Mastery thought, he works in the context of contemporary analytic depth psychology.

Active as a husband and father of two adult children, he lives at Green Gulch Farm Zen Center with his wife.
