Full Moon Bodhisattva Ceremony

  • Milwaukee Zen Center 2825 N Stowell Ave Milwaukee, WI 53211 USA (map)

Every month, on the full moon morning, we renew our bodhisattva precepts in an ancient ceremony.
On Saturday, February 27, it will take place at 7:30 am, in the place of morning service, after zazen.
Everybody is welcome , and practitioners who have received the precepts, are especially invited.

Because of the pandemic the zendo is closed for visitors, so we won’t have a doan ringing the bells and the sangha reciting after the priest. Though muted on zoom, you can read the text with me, which you will find under “Liturgy”.

The full moon has a special meaning in Zen: As it is reflected in each dewdrop, so is buddhanature reflected in each of us.
