The Wisconsin Museum of Quilts and Fiber Arts is currently hosting an exhibition that is worth visiting. If you don't know this place: it is stunning in itself. Some of you have been there with me on a field trip to a WATER exhibit, when we were studying Dogen's Mountains and Waters Sutra. I have visited it many times and also done workshops there.
This particular exhibit is not only for crafts people, but has a deep message for everyone living in today's world. Please check out the website and read for yourself how this project came into being and fruition.

25 Million Stitches: One Stitch, One Refugee is an artistic statement from the international community about human displacement, immigration, and solidarity. It is an aggregation of 25 million hand-sewn stitches, each representing a single displaced human being as counted in the UN’s High Commissioner on Refugees 2019 report. The stitches are bound to 407 muslin banners, each 14’ long. Building this physical representation of this statistic required participation from 2,300 stitches from 37 countries, all 50 U.S. states.
I would like to do another field trip with anyone of the sangha (and wider sangha), because it is more enjoyable and can also have a stronger impact when several people are together in the same spirit. We will carpool, and anyone living closer to Cedarburg can drive by themselves and meet there. Please let me know if you are interested and let me know what times would work for you. The show goes until July 28, and I will send out a number of dates in order to find a day when we can all make it!
The date above is for an informal, preliminary visit on which anyone may join me. But there will be another date for a larger group.
