ROHATSU CEREMONY and CELEBRATION

On December 8, Bodhi Day (Rohatsu in Japanese), Buddhists commemorate Shakyamuni's Enlightenment. In our tradition, we celebrate this event, which marks also our own awakening, with lively chanting and circumambulation of the altar, while flower petals rain from the sky.
